Yes. The existing platform is part of the discovery. A project may stay on the current platform or move when there is a clear operational, maintenance or performance reason to do so.
Will a redesign automatically improve Google rankings?
No ranking is guaranteed. A redesign can improve technical and content foundations, but rankings depend on competition, relevance, authority, local signals, links, reviews and other factors beyond the visual rebuild.
Can you preserve existing URLs?
Important indexed URLs should be reviewed before launch. Pages may be retained, improved or redirected deliberately rather than disappearing during the redesign.
